Computron
The Computron is a handheld all-in-one device device with a monitor and built in keyboard that required 6 C-batteries in order to operate. The 1980s saw a big increase in educational computers for children, which at the time were called ELAs for "electronic learning dervice." The electronic company VTL, which is now known as VTech was a prolific producer of these new machines and soon became the market leader, which they are still considered among the top in today. First produced in 1980, the Computron is a multi-funciton LED console with four games and a calculator incorporated. The Computron was basically the middle ground between a home console and a small computer. The device came with several games including Hangman, and programs for learning math, spelling, creating music, etc.
